How to plan your visit
Praça D. Pedro V is in central Castelo de Vide and admission is free. If you are staying in the historic centre, walk to the event rather than driving through the old streets at the busiest times.
Drivers should use public parking outside the narrowest streets and complete the journey on foot. Check for temporary traffic or parking restrictions on the day, as none are included in the published programme.
What to do before the festival
During the day, combine the festival with Fonte da Vila, the Jewish Quarter, the former Synagogue and the castle. In August, tackle the most exposed climbs in the morning, carry water and leave the square for late afternoon and evening.
Casa da Rua Nova is in the Jewish Quarter beside Fonte da Vila. Praça D. Pedro V and the festival are reachable on foot, so there is no need to return to the car.
